RB Series is DECOWELL's flagship multi-function expansion I/O system. 12mm ultra-slim modular design with hot-swap capability, supporting PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and WellBUS protocols.
Choose RB Series when the machine needs a modular 12 mm remote-I/O station with protocol-specific couplers, mixed digital/analog/special-function modules, hot-swap capability and module diagnostics. Final selection must match the PLC protocol, complete channel list, station power budget and the current catalog/manual.
Best suited for
- Mixed DI, DO, AI, AO or special-function signals that benefit from modular expansion
- PROFINET or EtherCAT stations whose exact coupler and modules are confirmed in the current documentation
Not recommended for
- Direct machine mounting where IP67 protection is required; review SD Series instead
- Projects that have not completed the station power and channel calculation
Selection steps
- Fix the network coupler — Match the PLC network to the exact RB adapter manual; do not infer protocol support from another coupler.
- Build the signal list — Count every digital, analog and special-function channel, including spare capacity.
- Calculate station limits — Check module order, power segments and station limits in the current RB catalog.
- Freeze documents — Record the catalog/manual version and configuration package used for the released BOM.
